Exactly! It's very painful, emotionally, to realize that your relationship (friendship) is not valued enough to keep once their partnership/marital status changes. Once I'm kicked to the curb, I pick myself up, try to remember the good experiences of our relationship (friendship) and move on. When these people try to re-engage the "friendship" when they have difficulty with their partner, or when, unfortunately, that partnership ends, they are surprised to learn that I am no longer available. Translation, you didn't value my relationship with you enough to continue nurturing it. I respected your choice to end it; now respect my choice not to re-engage with you. You have shown me what/who you value in your life, and it is not me. I'm Okay with that. Next!...
